Refurbished Cameras

What does refurbished mean?

When someone buys a camera and opens the original container, at that moment , the camera cannot be sold as “new”. Even if you return it 10 minutes later the camera must be re-inspected and repackaged before being sold as “Refurbished.”

These cameras have been carefully reconditioned by the factory to meet all factory specifications although some refurbished cameras may have signs of previous use (minor body wear or other cosmetic indications) they contain all original cables, batteries, manuals and other accessories and are protected by the factory warranty (usually a 90-day limited warranty).

Refurbished by the manufacturer with 90 day warranty and standard accessories included

Why Buy Refurbished Cameras?

A reconditioned camera is an exceptional value and can be an excellent way for you to start or expand your personal imaging system or just to get a good bargain on your first camera.
You can save as much as 25% to 52% off retail when you buy refurbished cameras. For example, at Amazon.com they list a Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera and DIGIC 4 Imaging with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens for $649 retail. The refurbished price is $485 for a savings of $164! At the time of this writing they had 36 in stock!

Another example (from Amazon.com) is a Nikon COOLPIX L810 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 26x Zoom that retails for $200 can be purchased a s a refurbished camera for only $132 or a savings of 52%!

Refurbished Cameras Don’t Have That “New Car Smell”

If you are the kind of person that buys a new car because they want to be sure that no one has touched it before them then refurbished cameras are not for you. On the other hand if you like saving money by buying the demo models, then these cameras are right for you. Someone has to buy retail, just not you. Why not save 25 to 50% off because someone opened the box and still get all of the accessories and warranties of a factory new camera? With the money you save you can add a new lens, a tripod or camera bag to your collection.
